TRUCK OF THE YEAR MAY 2019 ENTRANTS

May 28, 2019 0min read
The temperature may be dropping but as far as Isuzu’s Truck of the Year 2019 Competition is concerned, things are just heating up at the midway point of the competition. Grahame and Robyn are this month’s monthly winner and they’ll be walking away with $300 worth of Isuzu merchandise. All monthly winners go into the running to win the end year Grand and Series prizes —worth $6,000 and $1,000 collectively. So, what are you waiting for? Enter your Isuzu today!   GRAHAME & ROBYN The ultimate retirement set up…an NPR 45-155 Traypack from Isuzu’s Ready-to-Work range carting a tinny and a caravan. Grahame and Robyn say it has the, “reliability and power to take us anywhere.” It’s safe, dependable, full of features and of course the necessary space required for their on-road adventures. The truck does all the hard work, so they can do all the easy work - relaxing.   H&N LOGISTICS “Nothing beats the reliability of the Isuzu FVL,” says Adelaide-based Heath from H&N Logistics. Reliability aside, Heath raves about how the Isuzu FVL 240-500 is an “absolute pleasure to drive.” And the cherry on top? How often people compliment Heath on the FVL’s good looks. With brand new black curtains and glistening chrome highlights, the FVL is one attractive piece of kit.   INDETAIL CIVIL For Fabio, there was one factor lacking from other competitors’ trucks that he just couldn’t ignore, “…reliability and comfort made me switch to Isuzu.” Fabio runs an Isuzu GIGA CXY 240-460. Fabio runs a heavy haulage business, moving everything from machinery and tools through to materials for civil and concreting worksites.   JAC’S AUTO ELECTRICS Jac’s Auto Electrics’ 1999 NPR 400 has done nearly half a million kilometres and is still going strong. According to owner John, that’s a, “…true testament to Isuzu reliability, whether it be on a farm or a mine site.” The old fella (the truck, not John) carries an array of tools on the back such as a retractable greaser, crane, air compressor, generator and setup for remote breakdowns and services. It’s true—Isuzu trucks age just like the finest wine.   MUSCAT PLUMBING Apart from being reliable, safe and comfortable, Silvio believes his NPR 45-190 should win Truck of the Year purely because of its great looks. She’s a true diamond in the rough too – sparkling clean, shining Alcoa rims topped by bright blue livery and signage. The NPR is not only Silvio’s daily work commute, it also does well to advertise his business on the road.   TRENCHLESS PIPE LAYING This monster of a truck was body-built by North East Engineering in conjunction with Vermeer, and carefully crafted for owner, Jeff’s needs. In Jeff’s words, “…it allows our Hydro Excavation crews to work all day and be able to transport 8,000 litres of drill mud and liquid waste without going to the dump multiple times a day.” And according to Jeff, it’s the largest vacuum excavation unit in South Australia, so of course it’s an Isuzu! Trenchless Pipe Laying are so happy with their FYX 350-350, they’ve ordered another one!   RSR TILT TRAY SERVICES PTY LTD Combine the best tare weight in its class with an Allison automatic transmission and you get this beast. According to Ryan, it will “take on any towing task we throw at it.” But please don’t try to throw anything at the truck because you might damage its immaculate presentation. This thing can carry just about anything and look good doing it.   D&H TRANSPORT PTY LTD David loves his FYJ 300-350 Agitator so much that this is not the first, but the second he owns. “Whether I’m driving in the city or country, my Isuzu FYJ turns heads. From the schmick red, white and black Holcim paint job on the bowl to the custom chrome exhaust stack, “what else is there left to say.” I think you’ve said it all David.
