Nov 27, 2020 0min read
We’re rocketing towards the grand finale of the 2020 Truck of the Year Competition, with November being the last month for entries. Our final batch of contestants has hit the ground trucking, all vying for the top spot and chance at winning the Grand Prize—and we can safely say competition has never been fiercer! We’d like to give a warm thanks to everyone who entered this year. It’s been a privilege to see Isuzus big and small, old and new bringing everything from plumbing services to outback adventures across Australia. Recapping the Truck of the Year prizes: each monthly winner receives not only an Isuzu Trucks merchandise pack up to the value of $300, but also goes in the running to win an additional $1,000 Visa Cash Card if they’re selected as King of the N, F, FX/FY or Giga Series. They’re also in the draw for the coveted Grand Prize, a $6,000 Visa Cash Card. See here for the full terms and conditions. This month’s winner is Coopers Heavy Industries and their FYX 350-350 Auto! Congratulations on your $300 merchandise pack, and for going into the running for the Grand and Series prizes as well. We’ll be taking a short break over the holidays but will back in January 2021 to announce the Series winners and of course, our 2020 Truck of the Year Grand Prize winner. There may even be a little something extra for one of our lucky Truck of the Year entrants... Stay tuned on the Isuzu Content Hub for further announcements! COOPERS HEAVY INDUSTRIES If looks could kill, then this FYX 350-350 Auto from Coopers Heavy Industries has us slayed. Sporting the company’s signature black and yellow camo wrap with a matching Effer Crane and custom tray, the FYX brings Coopers’ mobile crane and transport services to clients across New South Wales. Owner Dylan Cooper notes the Suttons dealership made his purchase and outfit experience a breeze and has only positive things to say about his heavy-duty beauty, “This truck feels solid, I love the simplicity and I love how quiet it is. Thanks for such an excellent product, Isuzu!” A CLASS ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS PTY LTD “First class, A-Class!” Johno Sinclair and A Class Electrical Contractors give their brand new NNR 45-150 Traypack Crew a resounding cheer, pictured here at the Mildura Truck Centre Isuzu saleyard. Specialising in all things electrical, from rural works to residential services around the Mildura region, A Class needed a workhorse tough enough to withstand the daily grind while giving the crew a comfortable ride to and from jobs. They found just what they needed in the NNR Traypack Crew, featuring a handy GVM of 4,500 kg (which allows for multiple drivers), a heavy-duty aluminium tray and Isuzu’s Automated Manual Transmission with torque converter (TC-AMT). We give A Class top marks for practicality and bonus points for that slick custom wrap. PRP ENGINEERING Michael Cunningham from PRP Engineering in Victoria has written up a storm praising their tough-as-nuts NPS 75-155 Crew 4x4 and we’re sorry we can’t fit it all in! “No more getting stuck at muddy job sites,” says Michael. “We’ve worked hard to build a reputation for reliability, so that means we need vehicles that aren’t going to let us down, and Isuzu is our number one choice.” There’s a lot of detail to unpack on this NPS Crew 4x4, which has been fitted with a thoughtful service body surrounding PRP’s all-important Miller welder—assisting the team to carry out site work operations smoothly. Michael also loves the central locking operating in both cabs and all the service body doors, keeping valuable tools safe, wherever they go. ARIES RAIL Now here’s something you don’t see every day. Originally from Perth, Aries Rail has expanded their manufacturing and design business—which provides a range of innovative transport solutions for the rail industry—to include a Road-Rail Vehicle hire fleet. With careful consideration to vehicle selection and body configuration, Phil Gooch says the team turned to Isuzu’s FVR 165-300 as their standout medium-duty truck of choice. “The FVR is easy to work on, reliable and they have a proven track record in long-term service. Our customers have always been happy with their own Isuzu Hyrail trucks and we’re really pleased to have some for ourselves,” says Phil. DIESELTECH LOGISTICS DieselTech Logistics run a fleet of Isuzu NPS 4x4s to bring their mobile maintenance and repair service to clients around Western Australia. Specialising in Caterpillar On-Highway engines the team need a truck that can carry a full-range of tools while getting the team where they need to be, whether it’s farming country or the red dirt tracks of outback WA. “Our Isuzu NPS 4x4 get us there reliably, with everything comfortably secured in the toolboxes. Can’t beat an Isuzu!” sings owner Luke Armstrong. CLUB ASSIST Covering up to 3,000 kilometres a week travelling Western Australia’s regional back roads, this FSD 140-260 continues to exceed Club Assist’s expectations, bringing a turn-key roadside assist solution to clients in need. Featuring a bespoke build conjured by Park Body Builders and Major Motors Isuzu, Steven Williams says, “In only three months of use, our FSD has reduced manual handling by the driver by 75 per cent! That’s approximately 30 tonnes of lifting gone.” Combined with the ISRI 6860 pneumatic driver’s seat, rear airbag suspension system, and bulletproof Allison auto transmission, well... this Isuzu’s driver is all smiles, reporting less fatigue and higher satisfaction on the job. COOCHIE HYDROGREEN - NOOSA HEADS Giving homes on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland a top-of-the line lawn treatment that will always impress, Coochie Hydrogreen Noosa Heads relies on their NPR 200 (NPR 45-155) to stay ahead of the competition. Carrying all their tools and necessaries inside a specially constructed service body, Lachlan Archibald says of their trusty Isuzu, “It’s the most capable truck to handle the busy weeks, year in and year out. The carrying capacity is great but it’s also maneuverable around the tight streets of Noosa Shire. I wouldn’t trade it for anything... except maybe a newer model NPR...”
