MAY: TRUCK OF THE YEAR 2021

Jun 01, 2021 0min read
Brrr… the weather gets colder, but over here at the Truck of the Year competition, things are just starting to warm up. This month, we’ve seen more entrants than there are scorched marshmallows at a kid’s campfire… and Isuzu’s N Series is the hot favourite yet again, bringing in everything from bin washing equipment in Bathurst, to structural steel in Ingleburn. Our congratulations go out to Andrew Watson and their NPR 75-190 for taking out the prize for May! Our lucky monthly winners receive an Isuzu merchandise pack worth up to $300 RRP and go in the running to win the $1,000 Series Prize of their truck category (N/F/FX & FY and Giga Series). All roads of course lead to our ultimate Grand Prize—the coveted $6,000 visa cash card. There’s never been a better time than now. Enter your Isuzu truck today!

MAY 2021 MONTHLY WINNER - ANDREW WATSON

The NPR 75-190 makes one smart tautliner solution, and this particular truck is turning heads while hard at work for Andrew Watson in Pacific Pines, Queensland. The NPR 75-190 features a GVM of 7,500 kg, making it terrifically handy for heavy loads, from air conditioners through to… the kitchen sink. “It’s just a great, strong truck and a smooth ride too,” agrees Andrew.

HARLEY KELLY

“It doesn’t miss a beat and doesn’t complain if I skip the occasional shower,” hoots Harley Kelly from Victoria about his FSR 140-260. It looks like unconditional love between this proud truckie and his trusty steed. The workhorses of freight companies across Australia: our F Series trucks are the best-selling medium-duty trucks in the market, combining mechanical class with technical smarts. That’s best friends—brought to you by Isuzu!

PHAR CANAL KEV

“Words cannot describe how good the NLR 45-150 Tipper is,” sings Kev, from Phar Canal Kev Mini Digging, all the way up north in Babinda, Queensland. We hear you, Kev! Our NLR 45-150 Tipper brings all the tricks of the trade with a 2.0 cubic metre tray, drop sides and an auto-release tailgate—and an 8,000 kg GCM capable of towing as many mini diggers as you like.

BATHURST WHEELEY BIN CLEANERS

Proving the NLR 45-150 Traypack is ‘wheely’ handy for just about anything is this cheery green outfit from Bathurst Wheeley Bin Cleaners. “I had a ute for years and it struggled with the two tonne weight of the equipment,”says owner Geoff Feltham. “We decided to buy this little beauty and can carry the weight easily now… it’s got a great turning circle.”

LMC ELECTRICAL GROUP

There’s no doubt that tradies love a tool that can get the job done (and look a bit flash while doing it). The solar specialists over at LMC Electrical Group are happily murmuring praises for their NPR Tradepack as it brings them to residential and commercial sites in Canberra. Owner Leon Cooper notes the car-like driving feel of this 4,500 kg GVM model, and admires the quicksilver cab, nicely rounding out the company’s electric blue colour scheme. “Solar equipment, A/C units, towing… it’s no trouble for the NPR. It’s easy to drive and looks fantastic,” says Leon.

LUKES LOCAL FREIGHT

Helping to deliver reliable service to his customers across New South Wales, including flood victims earlier in the year, Luke Barber thinks the best thing about the NQR 450 (NQR 87-190) is the grunt of the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine to pull any load with confidence. “We do about 600 kilometres per day, and the truck can handle floods to dirt roads. Loaded or empty it can pull anything, anywhere,” he enthuses.

BW FABRICATION

From handrails to balustrades and beam supports up to four metres long, this NPR 45-155 AMT Tradepack can haul all sorts of hefty things while keeping things professional for BW Fabrication, says Jeremy Kassissieh. “We seriously love this truck! Our favourite part is the reliability… its gets us from A to B, enables us to commit to tight deadlines and ultimately leads to customer satisfaction.”

Playtime’s over, get $3,500* to spend on extras.
